How we work
Ten stages. You will always know what is happening, what comes next, and what we need from you. Most websites take two to six weeks from kick-off, and the biggest factor is how quickly content and feedback come back.
- 01Discovery callThirty minutes on what you are trying to build and what is in the way.
- 02ProposalOne document, two options, fixed scope and fixed price.
- 03DepositHalf up front to start. The balance at launch.
- 04OnboardingYour project board, shared folder and a short questionnaire.
- 05WireframeThe structure of the site, agreed before any design begins.
- 06BuildA real, working site on a private link, reviewed in rounds.
- 07LaunchDomain, email, forms and your own login, all handed over.
- 08IndexSubmitted to Google and connected to your business profile.
- 09TrackAnalytics set up so you can see what the site is doing.
- 10BeyondCheck-ins, hosting and support once the site is live.
You never do the legwork
We produce every draft, wireframe and build. Your job is to look, react and approve.
No surprises
Fixed price, agreed scope, and short weekly check-ins so nothing drifts.
You own everything
Domain, hosting and content system are yours from day one. No lock-in, no release fees.
- 0130 minutes, no charge
Discovery call
A conversation, not a pitch. We talk about what your business does, who the site is for, what you need it to produce, and what has got in the way before. By the end you will have an honest read on the problem and a clear recommendation, whether or not you work with us.
What we need from you
Thirty minutes and a rough idea of what you want the site to do. You do not need a brief.
What you get
A recommendation on the right kind of site, a sense of timeline, and a written proposal within two working days.
- 02Within 2 working days
Proposal and agreement
Everything from the call goes into one written document: what we will build, what it will cost, how long it will take and what is included. We usually give two options at different levels of service so you can choose the fit rather than the compromise. The agreement is part of the same document, so there is nothing separate to chase. Book another call to pick it apart, or approve it and we start.
What we need from you
A decision on which option, and a signature. Questions are welcome at any point.
Good to know
The price is fixed to the scope. If the scope changes later, we agree the change and the cost before any work is done.
- 0350% to begin
Deposit
Once the proposal is approved we send a deposit invoice for half the project value, payable within seven days. The deposit books your slot and starts onboarding. The remaining half is invoiced at launch.
What we need from you
Payment of the deposit. Work begins the day it lands.
Good to know
Your first year of hosting is included in the project, so there is nothing else to pay until the site has been live for a year.
- 04First week
Onboarding
Within a day of the deposit you receive three things. A project board, where you can see every stage, what is in progress and what is waiting on you. A shared folder, with named folders for your logo, brand files, images and copy, so it is obvious what goes where. And a short questionnaire, already filled in with what we learned on the call, so you are only adding what we do not yet know. We also ask for a handful of websites you like, and one you do not, with a line on why. It all shapes where we aim.
What we need from you
The questionnaire back within a week, which takes about twenty minutes. Your logo and brand files in the folder. Your example sites.
Why it matters
Everything we need to design well is gathered here, once. The faster it comes back, the sooner the first wireframe arrives.
- 05About a week
Wireframe
Before anything is designed, we agree the structure. The wireframe shows every page, what sits on it, in what order, and how a visitor moves from landing to enquiring. It is deliberately plain so the conversation stays on what the site needs to do rather than how it looks. We build it, you review it, and two rounds of revisions are included.
What we need from you
Feedback on each round within a few days, and a sign-off when it is right.
Good to know
Changing structure here takes minutes. Changing it after the build takes days. This stage exists to save you both.
- 062 to 4 weeks
Build
Design, copy and development happen together on a private preview link, so your first review is a real website with your words in it rather than a flat mockup of someone else's. Anything that will change over time is editable from the start. Revisions run in rounds, with a short weekly check-in so nothing drifts and nothing arrives as a surprise.
What we need from you
Any copy or images you are supplying, by the date on your project board. Feedback in rounds rather than in drips, so each revision is a clean step forward.
Good to know
The site is built mobile-first and tested across phones, tablets and desktops before you see it.
- 07A few days after sign-off
Launch
Once you have approved the site, the balance is settled and we take it live. We point your domain, set up the address your enquiry forms send to, test every form and link on the live site, and hand over your own login. You also receive a short tutorial video showing how to edit your site, so you can make changes with confidence from day one.
What we need from you
The balance payment. Access to your domain settings, or a contact who has it. If that is not possible, we send you the exact records to add.
What you get
A live site, your own login, a tutorial video, and everything registered in your name.
- 08Launch week
Index
A new site is invisible until search engines know it exists. In launch week we submit your sitemap, verify the site with Google, and connect it to your Google Business Profile so your listing and your website reinforce each other.
What we need from you
Access to your Google Business Profile if you have one. If you do not, we can set one up with you.
Good to know
Being indexed is the start, not the finish. Rankings build over weeks and months, and we can talk about search as a next step once the site is live.
- 09Launch week
Track
If you want to know what the site is doing, we set up analytics so you can see where visitors come from, what they look at and whether they enquire. Where a campaign needs it, we add tag management too. Both are optional, and we only suggest them if they are useful to you.
What we need from you
A Google account to own the analytics, so the data stays yours.
Good to know
Analytics are set up to respect your cookie policy and visitor consent from the start.
- 10Ongoing
Beyond launch
Launch is not the end of the relationship. We check in every so often to see how the site is performing and whether anything needs adjusting. Your first year of hosting is included. After that, we get in touch once a year to renew, and small updates can be sent to us at any time. If you ever want to move the site elsewhere, you can. It is yours.
What we need from you
Nothing, unless something changes. If it does, send it over and we will sort it.
Good to know
Hosting covers the site itself, its security certificate, monitoring and keeping everything up to date.
Everything below is registered in your name and accessible with your own logins. Nothing is held back and there is no fee to leave.
Your domain
Registered to you, never to us.
Your hosting
Fast, secure hosting with the first year included and a plain annual renewal after that.
Your content system
Your own login to edit text, images and pages whenever you need to, with a tutorial video to show you how.
Your website
The design, the code and the content. If you ever move on, it all comes with you.
